US actor Mark Salling, known for his role in the TV series Glee, has been found dead near his Los Angeles home, his lawyer confirmed to the BBC. Kenyan authorities shut down TV stations to prevent live coverage of a swearing-in event by opposition leader Raila Odinga, who boycotted last year’s disputed presidential election. An elder statesman in Kano, Alhaji Tanko Yakasai has praised late former Vice-President, Dr Alex Ekwueme for his contributions towards national development. Yakasai made the remark in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano on Tuesday.
