A service to mark 60 years since the Munich air crash which killed 23 people, including eight Manchester United players, has taken place. The crash, on 6 February 1958, happened on United’s return from a European Cup tie in Belgrade. Eight players, three club staff, eight journalists, two crew members and two passengers were killed. The Old Trafford service included a minute’s silence at 15:04, the time of the crash. Thousands of fans turned out for the ceremony. South African President Jacob Zuma’s state of the nation speech in parliament has been postponed, as pressure grows on him to resign. Parliament speaker Baleka Mbete made the announcement, without giving a new date for the address that had been scheduled for Thursday. The ruling ANC earlier called a meeting of the party’s top body for Wednesday to decide the president’s future. Mr Zuma, 75, has resisted calls to quit over corruption allegations. President Muhammadu Buhari has designated Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to lead the consultation, reconciliation and confidence building efforts of the ruling All Progressives Party (APC). Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos state is the leader of the party. Buhari took the decision as part of on-going efforts to improve cohesion within the party. The winner of a $560 million (£400m) Powerball jackpot last month is suing state lottery officials in a bid to protect her anonymity. The New Hampshire woman filed a civil complaint as Jane Doe, after making the “huge mistake” of signing the winning ticket without legal consultation. The United States has condemned the attitude of Nigerian and Cameroonian authorities towards the 47 Anglophone detainees who were repatriated to Cameroon from Nigeria. A statement by the US Department of State, signed by Ms Heather Nauert, the Department spokesperson noted that Nigeria and Cameroon have violated the rights of the detainees by forcibly repatriating them back to their countries of origin. One of the largest hospitals in the country is chasing a bill of more than £500,000 from a Nigerian woman who gave birth to quadruplets.
