UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has commended Nigeria and Tunisia’s leading role in the fight against corruption in Africa. Guterres, made the commendation in his remarks at High-level Debate Marking the 15th Anniversary of Adoption of UN Convention Against Corruption in New York. Nigeria’s Ministry of Finance has said the three tier of government, federal, state and local councils shared N701 billion as revenue in April Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Mr Mahmoud Isa-Dutse told newsmen that the amounts shared were the outcome of Federal Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) meeting. Giving a breakdown of the revenue accrued in April, the permanent secretary said mineral revenue increased by N50.7 billion, that is from N360.51 billion in March to N411.2 billion in April. Canada’s largest city Toronto said on Wednesday it is activating an emergency contingency plan to shelter refugee claimants as it prepares for an influx of migrants this summer. A rare move that underscores the strain caused by the inflow of asylum seekers flowing in illegally from the United States.
