The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal Command, have arrested one Precious Ofure Omonkhoa for an alleged bitcoin investment scam. Omonkhoa was arrested on November 8, 2021 in the Ikoyi area of Lagos, following credible intelligence received by the Commission about his illegal activities. He allegedly posed as Moshem Cnich, a Swedish national, to defraud unsuspecting victims of their hard- earned money by claiming that he runs a bitcoin scheme, where people invest money to make huge returns. A House of Representatives correspondent with Vanguard newspaper, Tordue Henry Salem, has been found dead after he was declared missing 29 days ago. Salem was reportedly last seen on October 13, 2021. He was found dead on Thursday, November 10 in the Federal Capital Territory. “Details of the circumstances surrounding the recovery of his remains were still sketchy as at 9.30 pm, Thursday,” the newspaper said. Paris St-Germain women’s midfielder Aminata Diallo has been released without charge by French police investigating an attack on her team-mate Kheira Hamraoui. Diallo had been arrested on Wednesday. Diallo, 26, was driving Hamraoui and another unnamed team-mate home after a team meal in Paris on 4 November when they were ambushed by two masked men. A Myanmar military court has sentenced US journalist Danny Fenster to 11 years in jail. Fenster was found guilty of breaching immigration law, unlawful association and encouraging dissent against the military. He was earlier this week slapped with two additional charges of sedition and terrorism, which carry a maximum sentence of life imprisonment. His trial on the new charges will begin on 16 November.
