The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the deadline for candidates with outstanding admission offers from 2021 to 2025 to accept or reject the offers on its Central Admissions Processing System, CAPS.
In a statement shared on its X handle on Wednesday, the board announced the extension, giving affected candidates until November 30, 2026, to take action.
JAMB called on candidates with pending offers to sign into their CAPS accounts and state whether they wanted to accept or reject the admissions.
The board said, “JAMB has extended the deadline for affected candidates to 30 November 2026 to accept or reject their outstanding admission offers on CAPS.”
The board cautioned that candidates who did not take action before the deadline would forfeit the status of their outstanding offers on JAMB’s records.
It stated, “After 30 November, outstanding offers that have neither been accepted nor rejected will revert to ‘Not Admitted’ on JAMB’s records.”
JAMB also advised candidates not to wait until the last minute, encouraging them to review their CAPS accounts and take the required action.
This most recent extension comes after an earlier deadline of September 30, 2026, which JAMB announced on August 30 for candidates offered admission from 2021 to date.
The board had at first set August 31 as the deadline for affected candidates to accept or reject their outstanding offers before moving it to September 30.
In its August statement, JAMB explained that candidates who accepted their offers would be able to proceed to print and collect their admission letters, while those who rejected theirs would have their dashboards reverted to “Not Admitted.”
The board added that candidates who had transferred to another institution or program could accept their earlier outstanding admission and then apply for the appropriate correction or deletion, where applicable.
JAMB also noted that candidates offered admission in the 2026 admission exercise but who still had previous admission offers pending could reject the earlier offers without it affecting their 2026 admission.
Under the newest extension, however, the board said outstanding 2021-2025 offers that are still neither accepted nor rejected after November 30 would automatically revert to “Not Admitted.”
“Any subsequent request to update such an admission will attract the applicable penalty fee,” JAMB warned.
The board encouraged every affected candidate to review their CAPS accounts and finalize their choices prior to the new deadline.
