An Ebute Metta Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, on Tuesday remanded a 47-year-old man, Premie Imafidon, for allegedly slapping his wife to death. The Chief Magistrate, Mrs A.O. Ajibade, remanded Imafidon in Ikoyi Prisons and ordered that the case file should be sent to the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice. Ajibade adjourned the case until September 3. According to transparency platform, Tracka, the senator representing Osun West Senatorial District nominated the project in the 2017 Zonal Intervention Projects. Nigerian Army has arrested five robbers and two female accomplices in the north central state of Kogi on Monday, its spokesman said. Brig.-Gen Texas Chukwu, the army spokesman said the robbers at Felele, along Lokoja–Okene highway. Chukwu said the robbers were caught wearing military camouflage and robbing innocent commuters. Chukwu said three of them – Saviour Denis, 39 years, Isaac Donald, 35 years and Joseph Isah, 35 years were arrested while one Atsen was killed during an exchange of fire with the troops. The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dissolved the Kwara State Executive of the party, finally breaking the control of Senate President Bukola Saraki on the party affairs in the state.
