Ahead of the projected date of mid-2022 for the complete withdrawal of fuel subsidies, the Federal Government of Nigeria has planned strategies to minimize the negative impact of the removal of subsidies on the most vulnerable 40% of the population. Senate President Ahmad Lawan has given the Committee on Appropriations till Wednesday this week to conclude 2022 budget defense by subcommittees of the upper chamber. A bus carrying North Macedonian tourists crashed in flames on a highway in western Bulgaria before daybreak on Tuesday, killing at least 46 people, including 12 children, officials said. The bus was registered in North Macedonia and most of those on board were tourists returning from a trip to Istanbul in Turkey.
