Gunmen have murdered the traditional ruler of Atta ancient kingdom, Edwin Azike, sending the community and Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State into a frenzy. Gunmen have killed at least 16 worshippers in a mosque during an attack on Ba’are village in Mashegu area, Niger state. Scores were also injured in the dastardly attack on the Mosque on Thursday. The attackers opened fire on the Muslim worshippers during early morning prayers on Wednesday, a Niger state government official, Ahmed Ibrahim Matane, told the BBC. The autopsy report of Timothy Adegoke, a Master’s degree student at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, has been submitted to police headquarters in Abuja.
