A Federal High Court sitting in Calabar presided over by Justice Simon Amobeda has set Friday, October 4, 2019, for it’s ruling on the bail application for journalist and activist, Mr. Agba Jalingo. The Department of State Services (DSS) has confirmed arresting Abdulrasheed Maina, former chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT). Peter Afunanya, spokesman of the agency, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued on Wednesday. He said Maina was arrested at a hotel in Abuja on September 30, 2019, saying his son attempted to open fire on the DSS operatives involved in the operation. “The arrest which was effected at the Pennsylvania Avenue Hotel, Utako, Abuja followed a request by the EFCC to the Service to assist in the apprehension of the suspect,” the statement read. The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Kano struck out all petitions against Governor Abdullahi Ganduje by Peoples Democratic Party and its governorship candidate, Abba Kabir-Yusuf on Wednesday. The Sokoto State Governorship Election Tribunal on Wednesday ruled that the petition filed by Ahmed Aliyu challenging the declaration of  Aminu Tambuwal as the winner of the governorship election is valid.
