A nursing mother identified as Sabina David has been kidnapped by gunmen in Taraba State. The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday at the Kasuwan Bera area of Ardo-Kola Local Government. Describing the incident, her husband, David Akipa, said the abductors came in their numbers shooting sporadically and on hearing the gunshots approaching his house, he fled, leaving his wife and the newborn. Mr Ibrahim Magu, Acting Chairman, Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), has alleged that some state governors are afraid of organising flamboyant parties because of the commission’s eagle eyes. A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has ordered the temporary forfeiture to the Federal Government of the sum of N280,555,010 linked to Obinwanne Okeke popularly known as Invictus Obi. Justice Rilwan Aikawa ruled on an ex-parte application on Monday by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The commission said it traced the said amount to Mr Okeke in bank accounts of Invictus Oil and Gas Limited and Invictus Investment Limited. Deputy Speaker of Taraba State House of Assembly, Mohammed Gwampo was on Monday impeached by members of the house for lacking competence. In a petition read by member representing Lau state constituency, Albasu Kunini during plenary, he alleged that Gwampo was incapable of discharging the functions of his office. He disclosed that the petition of alleged incompetence was signed by 17 of the 24 members of the house of assembly. The  Cross River Debt Review and Development Commission has revealed that the proposed Bakassi Deep Seaport to be sighted in the State, will cost between $1.7 billion and $2 billion. The Commission made this known at the weekend during an interactive session with journalists in Calabar.
