Former Chelsea and Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri has been appointed as Italian side Sampdoria’s manager. Ranieri replaces Eusebio di Francesco, who was sacked on Monday with the club bottom of Serie A after six defeats in seven matches. Some officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have been caught on camera assaulting a man said to be a lawyer in Onitsha, Anambra. The video posted on the Facebook page of one Ben Chuks Udoh captured the policemen assaulting the lawyer and wrestling him to the ground. Senator Dino Melaye has assured his supporters that he will continue to defeat his political rival Senator Smart Adeyemi, in any senatorial election organised in Kogi West. Lagos State Government generated N263.25 billion as Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) in the first half of 2019, more than 10 other state governments together.
