President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote says the congestion at Apapa ports, caused by gridlock has resulted in Dangote Group losing about N25 billion in accruable revenue from 2017 to the 2019 financial year. A gunman opened fire in a church in Texas, fatally shooting two parishioners before being killed by an armed member of the congregation. The gunman stood up from a pew at West Freeway Church of Christ in White Settlement, a suburb of Fort Worth, pulled out a shotgun and begun firing. Police said they were still trying to determine the attacker’s motives. White Settlement Police Chief JP Bevering praised “the heroic actions” of those who confronted the attacker. The Zamfara Government says it will drag a total of 108 civil servants to court for allegedly receiving double salary in different ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) in the state. The state’s Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Rabi’u Garba, disclosed this at a press briefing on Sunday in Gusau. Garba said that the affected workers were discovered during the ongoing investigation of workers’ salary issues by the state’s ministry of finance. The Police Command in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Sunday said it arrested two suspects at a robbery scene in Pegi community in Kuje Area Council. The Deputy Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, ASP Mariam Yusuf disclosed this in a statement in Abuja. She said two victims of the robbery incident died following deep machete wounds inflicted on them by the suspects. The Zamfara Government says it has uncovered a 119-year-old (name withheld) on its payroll as it seeks to sanitise its wage bill and rid it of ghost workers. The state Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Rabiu Garba, disclosed at a news conference on Sunday in Gusau that the centenarian is surprisingly collecting salary. The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has announced a new Tax Clearance Certificate (TCC) regime. This was announced via a public notice signed by Mr. Muhammad Nami, Chairman, FIRS. The Service also announced that it is offering a 30-day window to enable taxpayers obtain TCC. The new TCC regime, according to a the public notice, will make it easier for taxpayers to obtain TCC. The FIRS Chairman noted that the offer to ease issuance of  TCC is in accordance with the provisions of Section 101 (1) of CITA LFN 2004 and in conformity with Self-Assessment Regulation, 2011.
