Police in Russia have discovered a newborn baby dead in a washing machine. Russian authorities said in an official report that the mother of the newborn Nadezhda Z, is facing a murder investigation after the baby was found dead. Nadezhda Z, a 31-year-old hairdresser, gave birth to her fourth child prematurely during the night. The police on Monday, arraigned a motorcyclist (okada rider), Enejo Isah, in a Grade I Area Court in Mpape, Abuja, for allegedly stealing banana worth N1.8 million. Isah, who lives in ”Ajegunle” area of Mpape, is charged with criminal trespass and theft. The Prosecution Counsel, M.M. Austin, told the court that on Jan. 11, Isah, 26,  trespassed into a banana plantation belonging to one Emmanuel Tanko and stole banana worth N1.8 million. Investigative journalist and anti-human trafficking advocate, Ms Tobore Ovuorie, has filed a N15 million suit at the Federal High Court in Lagos against the University of Lagos (Unilag) and its Vice-Chancellor for alleged unlawful violation of the Freedom of Information Act, 2011 and her right of access to information, arising from the institution’s reported failure to perform its statutory obligations under the Act. An FCT High Court on Monday sentenced Maryam Sanda, the woman who  stabbed her husband to death, Bilyaminu, son of a former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Haliru Bello, to death by hanging. The Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Lokoja in Kogi, has confirmed three cases of lassa fever with one recorded death at the facility in the last one week.
