Bauchi state government in northern Nigeria on Tuesday recorded 11 new confirmed cases of coronavirus. This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state to be 25. Out of the total number, six have been discharged, 19 active cases with zero death. Two pastors, Johnson Ogundipe Johnson and Joshua Adeuyi, were, on Monday, arraigned before an Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court for allegedly conducting a religious gathering of more than 20 persons on Sunday. The Senate has received three requests from President Muhammadu Buhari for the confirmation of nominees to serve on the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC); Federal Character Commission; and the Federal Civil Service Commission. Australian Health Minister Greg Hunt told reporters on Tuesday that 2.4 million people had downloaded and registered for the government’s coronavirus contact tracing app. The COVIDSafe smartphone app uses a Bluetooth wireless signal to exchange a “digital handshake” with another user when they come within 1.5m (4.9ft).
