Former US President Barack Obama has strongly criticised his successor Donald Trump over his response to the coronavirus crisis. In a private conference call, he called the US handling of the pandemic “an absolute chaotic disaster”. His remarks were made while encouraging former staff to work for Joe Biden’s presidential election team, CNN says. Lassa fever kills 214 in Nigeria as fatality rate hits 25% – NCDC

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 239 confirmed coronavirus cases in the country on Saturday. The 239 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control on Friday takes the total number of confirmed cases to 4151. The NCDC also announced the discharge  of 66 patients from isolation centers across the country with 11 additional deaths also reported. Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria topped the number of confirmed cases with 97 new cases.
