Former US President Barack Obama has strongly criticised his successor Donald Trump over his response to the coronavirus crisis. In a private conference call, he called the US handling of the pandemic “an absolute chaotic disaster”. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 239 confirmed coronavirus cases in the country on Saturday. The 239 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control on Friday takes the total number of confirmed cases to 4151. The NCDC also announced the discharge  of 66 patients from isolation centers across the country with 11 additional deaths also reported. Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria topped the number of confirmed cases with 97 new cases. President Muhammadu Buhari commiserates with government and people of Sokoto State over the passing of Sheikh Haruna Waziri Usman, 96, after a prolonged illness. Sheikh Usman was the patriarch of the Waziri Tambuwal family, and Governor Aminu Tambuwal’s uncle. President Buhari in statement signed by his spokesman, Garba Shehu, said Sokoto has lost an illustrious son. Justice Muslim Hassan of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Friday, May 8, 2020, ordered the final forfeiture of the sum of N426.7m belonging to Brig.-Gen. John Onimisi Ozigi (retd.) to the Federal Government.
