Astronomer, a US software company, has launched an internal investigation after a viral video appeared to show Andy Byron, its CEO, and Kristin Cabot, its chief people officer, in an intimate moment during a Coldplay concert.

The incident occurred on Wednesday when the pair were caught on the stadium’s “kiss cam” — a fan-interactive segment that prompts couples to kiss — while seated together at the event.

Footage showed them swaying closely with their arms wrapped around each other before ducking away in apparent embarrassment as the camera focused on them.

In a post via X, the software company clarified that no other employees were present at the event, dismissing online speculation.

The company also confirmed that Alyssa Stoddard, another executive previously linked to the video in rumours, was not in attendance.

“Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding,” the post reads.

“Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability.

“The Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter and we will have additional details to share very shortly.

“Alyssa Stoddard was not at the event and no other employees were in the video. Andy Byron has not put out any statement, reports saying otherwise are all incorrect.”

In the wake of the incident, Megan Kerrigan Bryon, Andy’s wife, removed his surname from her Facebook profile, deleted posts referencing their marriage, and set her account to private, fueling further speculation about the state of their relationship.
