Arsenal have rebuffed approaches for Emile Smith Rowe, 23, with Aston Villa, West Ham and Newcastle all expressing an interest in the England midfielder, who has started just two games in all competitions this season. (Mail)

Newcastle have identified Everton and Belgium midfielder Amadou Onana, 22, as a good option to bolster their ranks as concerns grow over the future of Brazil midfielder, Joelinton, 27, who is yet to agree on a new deal at St James’ Park. (Telegraph – subscription required)

West Ham are looking to make two loan signings after opening talks with Manchester City over a deal for England midfielder Kalvin Phillips, 28, and approaching Arsenal about Smith Rowe. (Guardian)

Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester City are all keeping tabs on Bayer Leverkusen and Germany midfielder Florian Wirtz, 20, who is valued at more than £100m. (Bild – in German)
