No fewer than 84 party members have been expelled by the All Progressives Congress (APC) for engaging in anti-party activities in Osun State.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Osun State APC chairman, Sooko Lawal, on Wednesday.
According to Lawal, the party’s decision followed allegations of misconduct levelled against the expelled members.
Lawal noted that the state executive took the decision following a comprehensive assessment of evidence and recommendations.
He said “following complaints of anti-party activities, the State Executive Committee of the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) constituted a disciplinary committee to investigate the allegations against some members.
“This disciplinary measure came in response to the allegations of misconduct and actions that embarrassed and brought the party into disrepute.
“The disciplinary committee undertook a thorough and impartial review of the allegations, and the findings were carefully deliberated upon by the State Executive Committee.”
The state chairman of the ruling party urged other members to remain focused on the ruling party’s goals and continue to work together to serve the interests of the state, stating that their commitment to transparency, inclusivity, and adherence to the APC’s core values should remain unwavering.
