Spokesperson for the 2023 Labour Party (LP) Presidential Campaign Organisation, Kenneth Okonkwo, has stated that Nigeria cannot become great under the leadership of the All Progressive Party, APC, and the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

Okonkwo, in a statement on Sunday, mentioned that Nigeria has “no hope for the future” under the leadership of the two main political parties in the country.

“It is obvious that the APC and PDP, as presently constituted, do not have what it takes to lead us to a great Nigeria,” he said.

The actor-turned-politician noted that the combined leadership of the APC and the PDP “is trying to cripple Nigeriakk.”

He stated that under the supervision of the APC and PDP, they have brought the nation to its knees economically and politically.”

“Indeed, their combined leadership is trying to cripple Nigeria as this blessed country is now down economically, politically, and in every other index, leaving the people with no other option than to protest for their survival. They can see no hope for the future,” he added.

Suggesting a solution to the “mess” created by the APC and the PDP, Okonkwo stated that Nigerians should rally around in creating a party with a strong “grassroot” that will seize “power from these kakistocrats and kleptocrats.”

“We need a solid political party with a solid grassroot base to be able to wrestle power from these kakistocrats and kleptocrats,” he said.

“We, therefore, need a decisive leader who will be able to build such a party of integrity and character from the grassroots because eventually, the majority of the people who populate a government will proceed from the political party of the leader,” he added.

He condemned the lack of internal democracies in political parties in the country, which he claims leads to the production of incompetent leaders.

“Nigeria problems today come from a lack of internal democracy in the parties, which becomes a breeding ground for the production of incompetent and corrupt leaders in government,” Okonkwo stated.
