President Donald Trump will be staying away from Twitter for some hours following a backlash from US citizens on the social media platform.

In an interview with CNN’s Don Lemon, LeBron James admitted that racism has reached a new level since Trump became president of the US.

    — CNN (@CNN) August 4, 2018

James who recently joined LA Lakers as a free agent also admitted that racism has always been in the US, only that this time they do it to your face.

Shortly after the interview, Trump took to Twitter to share his view on LeBron James’ interview. He also had a word for Lemon.

“Lebron James was just interviewed by the dumbest man on television, Don Lemon. He made Lebron look smart, which isn’t easy to do. I like Mike!,” he tweeted referring to Micheal Jordan.

But Americans were not going to let this slide. Trump who has repeatedly bullied the media via Twitter was going to be beat in his own sport.

Here are some of the responses from Twitter.

LeBron James, already a legendary athlete, has created a foundation to help kids stay in school & provide college scholarships.

He’s given more than $40M & launched a real school to help kids in need, not a phony university to con people.

    You’re nothing but a racist loser. https://t.co/9khY5soJDD

    — Steven Beschloss (@StevenBeschloss) August 4, 2018

Neither LeBron nor Don are under investigation for conspiring with our enemies, rigging an election, or obstructing justice.

That makes them smarter than you.

    — John Pavlovitz (@johnpavlovitz) August 4, 2018

You. Seriously. Just. Made. Me. Nauseous.
Lebron has had one wife, zero scandals, and just opened a school he built for inner city kids.
I’ll take dumb over whatever this tweet defines you as any day. ????

    — Carlos Whittaker (@loswhit) August 4, 2018

LeBron is CLEARLY under his skin and on his mind.

What a sad little man. https://t.co/AzG1HwUFGM

    — Shaun King (@ShaunKing) August 4, 2018

Donald Trump is a terrible person who was born on third base but thinks he hit a triple.

LeBron James is a self-made legend and an even better human being.

Of course the President is jealous of the King.

    — Adam Best (@adamcbest) August 4, 2018

LeBron is everything Trump wishes he could be but isn't. A truly self-made man who was given nothing and gained everything, achieving the highest level of success solely through the merits of his talent and hard work, and who is respected, loved, and admired around the world.

    — Dustin Kent (@dustinjkent) August 4, 2018

This week LeBron opened a school for hundreds of at-risk kids while Donald Trump's education secretary attempts to undo college loan forgiveness for students who were “knowingly deceived” by their schools and rolls back Obama-era guidelines on discrimination in schools.

    — TV's Harrison Faigen (@hmfaigen) August 4, 2018

A reminder of the dumb things LeBron was responsible for just this week alone. pic.twitter.com/mEjOdlfM2H

    — Justin Phan (@jphanned) August 4, 2018

Before LeBron criticized him, @realDonaldTrump was a fan. pic.twitter.com/tAOj5fYcG5

    — Hunter Walker (@hunterw) August 4, 2018

    This week:

-LeBron James sent 240 children to a school he created, including programs supporting their families.

-Donald Trump missed the deadline to free children from cages he put them in order to reunite them with their families.

    You do the fucking math.

    — marisa kabas (@MarisaKabas) August 4, 2018

LeBron James is popular. Donald Trump is not. LeBron opened up a public school in an underserved community, the same one in which he grew up. Trump had to pay a $25 million settlement for running a fake university. https://t.co/rGmBinBany
