    Ambode, Fowler to grace 44th AAAN AGM

    Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State and Mr. Babatunde Fowler, Chairman Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), will be among prominent figures at the 44th Annual General Meeting/Congress of the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) scheduled to hold between 6 and 8 July at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Festac, Lagos.

    A statement signed by Mr. Steve Babaeko, Publicity Secretary of the association, disclosed that Governor Ambode is expected to declare open the 2016 AGM, while Mr. Fowler will be the Chairman.

    Also expected are Mr. Tunji Bello, Secretary to the Lagos State Government (SSG); Mr. Steve Ayorinde, Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy; and other senior government officials.

    Equally expected are captains of industry, top business leaders and policy makers within and outside the Marketing Communications industry.

    The AGM/Congress has as its theme: “Fresh Thinking”. AAAN President, Mr. Kayode Oluwasona, explained that the association aims to use the AGM as a platform to stimulate fresh perspectives and critical thinking that advocate unorthodox solution to the challenges facing the business and practice of advertising in Nigeria.

    To underscore the importance of the AGM, the Association has invited Mr. Bayo Adekanmbi, Transformation Executive, C-Level Lead for Strategic Initiatives, MTN Nigeria; and Mr. David Okeme, President, Advertisers Association of Nigeria (ADVAN), as speakers at the event.

    Chairman of the AGM/Congress Planning Committee, Mr. Jenkins Alumona, stated that fresh thinking and new ideas are critical to today’s business.

    He explained that delegates and participants will benefit tremendously from the educative papers to be presented by the speakers on the AGM theme.

    The Association’s AGM is a major event in the nation’s marketing communications calendar and always attracts massive local and foreign media coverage.
