There is confusion within the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the reported resignation of Senator John Akpanudoedehe, national secretary of APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC).

Akpanudoedehe on Tuesday attended an APC meeting presided over by Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger state but reportedly stormed out of the meeting midday.

The CECPC national secretary who is loyal to the Mai Mala Buni faction of the party had initially issued a statement in Monday rebuffing reports that Buni has been replaced by Bello as acting chairman.

But since he issued the state, Bello has presided over party issues with Buni reportedly out of the country for medical reasons.

The news of his resignation is yet to be confirmed with several party officials confused if it is true or not.

An APC chieftain who spoke to Chronicle NG confirmed the exit of Akpanudoedehe. He said the former minister of state for the Federal Capital Territory has cleared his desk and has taken his paraphernalia.

An official statement from the APC to this effect is yet issued to this effect.

Akpanudoedehe did not also immediately respond to calls seeking his response to his alleged resignation.
