Human rights activist turned politician, Aisha Yesufu, has berated the Nigerian police over the arrest of popular social media influencer, Sea King.

Yesufu, in a statement on Sunday, criticised the police over the arrest of Sea King, describing their action as ridiculous.

The self-acclaimed disc jockey was allegedly arrested by the operatives of the police after being declared wanted.

His arrest comes after Sea King, in a now-viral clip shared on his social media platforms, criticised the Federal Government, politicians in the country, the police, and the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

Speaking on his arrest, Yesufu said, The Nigerian police are setting themselves up. Citizens are angry, and they who know they have no cover and are nearest to the people are antagonising the people on behalf of corrupt politicians who have no iota of sympathy for them.”

”When corrupt politicians and corrupt police top brass jet out of the country, the ones they are sending to arrest people now will be at the mercy of the people,” she added.
