DStv and GOtv continue to deliver the best to football fans, including the conclusion of the 2020 UEFA Champions League this Sunday, now extended to DStv Compact, DStv Confam and GOtv Max customers.

DStv and GOtv football fans are in for what promises to be an epic showdown between French and German continental heavyweights, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich, this Sunday, 23 August from 7pm.

The historical final will be aired on SuperSport 5 (DStv channel 225) and SuperSport 8 (DStv channel 228) and SuperSport Select 5 (GOtv channel 36). This means that DStv Confam and Compact customers, as well as GOtv Max customers, will also be able to catch the game live.

Leading up to the kick-off whistle, viewers can tune-in for the match build-up programming, including highlights of past games involving the two finalists.

Paris Saint-Germain has earned their place in the showpiece match with a comfortable 3-0 win over RB Leipzig on Tuesday, with Marquinhos, Angel Di Maria and Juan Bernat scoring the goals for the Parisians, who will contest their first-ever UEFA Champions League final and seek to complete a quadruple of trophies in the 2019-20 season (having also claimed Ligue 1, the Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue).

Despite the match being played behind closed doors, PSG coach Thomas Tuchel says his team will play with their supporters in their hearts. “Football is for the fans. We do all this together. We can really feel that they’re with us and that they have confidence in us. I really hope they can feel that this team is a real team,” said Tuchel.

    • Bayern beat Lyon to reach Champions League final

Di Maria, meanwhile, is looking forward to the chance to make history with PSG. “We’re very happy. It’s a first for the club. “We worked hard and played a great game. We want to make history for the club. We succeeded tonight and we’re in the final – that’s very important,” said the Argentine.

Bayern Munich have been the most impressive team in these latter stages of the UEFA Champions League and confirmed their place in the final with a 3-0 triumph over Olympique Lyon on Wednesday evening, with Serge Gnabry (two) and Robert Lewandowski netting the goals. “We want to give it everything we have. I don’t think that the attacking game of Lyon is far worse than PSG. They were ambitious in attack,” said Bayern coach Hansi Flick. “We lost possession which we have to stop doing. Now we have to rest and on Sunday try to win the title with another top performance against Paris.”

Sunday’s final could see Bayern, break Barcelona’s scoring record in the Champions League having played seven less matches – what pundits are calling, the deadliest scoring parring in the UCL of Robert Lewandowski and Serge Gnabry.

The football action will continue for DStv and GOtv customers when the 2020/21 European League football season kicks off in September.
