    Nigeria announces 681 new coronavirus cases

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced Nigeria’s single highest one-day coronavirus cases in the country on Thursday with 681 cases.

    The 681 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed cases past the 14000 mark to 14554.

    The NCDC also announced the discharge of 143 patients from isolation centers across the country with four new deaths reported.

    Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria topped the number of confirmed cases with 345 new cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 6611.

    • Nigeria announces 409 new coronavirus cases

    Rivers state reported a whooping 51 new cases while Ogun recorded 51 cases and Gombe state reported 48.

    Oyo recorded 36 new cases while Imo recorded 31, Delta had 28 new cases, Kano 23 and Bauchi 18.

    Other states are Edo-12, Katsina-12, Kaduna-9, Anambra-7, Jigawa-5, Kebbi-4, Ondo-4 and Nasarawa-1.

    NCDC reports that there are 14554 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 4494 discharged and 387 deaths.
