Abuja-based fashion house TADD Couture, founded by Nigerian designer and tech enthusiast Toluwalase Aro, is building a reputation for bespoke fashion that combines creativity, comfort and precision. The brand places strong emphasis on craftsmanship, paying attention to both the visible and hidden details of every garment.
One of TADD Couture’s signature features is its use of tweed to create refined, structured outfits. A standout design is a tweed suit with a removable pearl arrangement at the waist, allowing the wearer to switch between a more decorative appearance and a simpler, understated look.
The brand’s attention to detail has earned praise from clients. One customer described its designs as being of “CHANEL standard”, highlighting the quality of its tweed outfits and the precision evident in its tailoring.

TADD Couture also seeks to redefine conventional corporate dressing through its Unconventional Collection, which explores alternative cuts, silhouettes and details. Its coordinated outfits, featuring jackets, trousers, blouses and trench coats, combine the practicality of office wear with opportunities for individual expression.
Behind the designs is a construction process that prioritises technical precision. For its sculptural pagoda sleeves, the team developed an internal structural layer to maintain the desired shape while preserving a clean finish, demonstrating the importance of garment construction in achieving distinctive designs.

The fashion house has extended its bespoke services to international clients, including a bride in Norwich, United Kingdom. The team coordinated measurements and consultations remotely through video calls and progress photographs before producing and shipping a voluminous ball-gown wedding dress made with heavy lace, bridal satin, crinoline mesh and a petticoat.
From a home-based operation to a fashion studio in Abuja, TADD Couture has expanded its clientele to countries including Ghana, France, Hungary, Russia, Italy, South Africa and Kenya. Aro’s long-term vision is to build an internationally recognised couture house, develop innovative garment-construction techniques and create opportunities to train emerging designers.
