American rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs has reportedly been hospitalized after sustaining a head injury while serving his prison sentence in New Jersey, United States.
According to the Los Angeles Times, which reported the development on Monday, the 56-year-old was taken to a hospital on Saturday, October 10, and treated for what was described as a non-life-threatening injury.
The report, citing TMZ, stated that Combs was conscious and speaking prior to being hospitalized.
The circumstances surrounding the injury have not been officially established publicly.
A representative for Combs said in a statement to the Los Angeles Times, “We are aware of the reports concerning Sean Combs and are working to confirm the circumstances.
“Sean’s health and well-being are our immediate concern, and we appreciate everyone who has reached out.”
A representative for the Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix, where Combs is serving his sentence, declined to comment on the reported hospitalization, according to the newspaper.
This development follows days after reports of Combs’ prison privileges drew fresh media scrutiny, which included claims that he was given special meals and massages and had access to banned devices.
In a report released on October 2, the Los Angeles Times stated that NBC News had referenced four unnamed inmates who claimed Diddy paid other prisoners to cook and clean for him and gained access to a contraband mobile phone and an illegal supply of alcohol.
Combs’ representative pushed back on the media attention regarding his prison conditions, telling NBC News, “The continued scrutiny of every mundane detail of Sean Combs’ life in prison has reached the point where the media characterizes ordinary prison life as news.”
The representative added, “The only real news is that Sean continues to serve his sentence while awaiting the court’s decision on his appeal.”
Reports concerning the conditions of his imprisonment were soon followed by an adjustment to the date on which he was expected to be released.
As reported by the Los Angeles Times, the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ inmate database indicated the date had been shifted from January 21, 2028, to March 2, 2028.
After a jury found him guilty in July 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, Combs received a 50-month federal prison sentence.
Diddy was cleared of the charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking.
The verdict came after a widely watched trial in New York, which included testimony about sexual encounters involving Combs, his former girlfriend Casandra Ventura, also known as Cassie, and male sex workers.
Combs’ legal team has filed an appeal against both his conviction and his sentence. In the most recent reports, the appeal had yet to be resolved.
The reported hospitalization marks yet another development in the legal and prison-related difficulties confronting the Bad Boy Records founder, whose career in music and business once ranked him among the most prominent figures in American hip-hop.
