Chieftains of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, including its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and National Chairman, Senator David Mark, on Saturday attended the funeral service of the late mother of the party’s vice presidential candidate, Rotimi Amaechi, in Ubima, Rivers State.
The funeral service for the late Dame Mary Orduah Amaechi, 89, was held on Saturday at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Ubima, with former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, former Attorney-General of the Federation Abubakar Malami, ADC National Secretary Rauf Aregbesola, and other dignitaries in attendance.
The ADC stated that the leaders joined Amaechi and his family “to pay their final respects and stand with the Amaechi family in their time of grief.”
Dame Mary Orduah Amaechi’s death was announced on July 16, 2026.
Her burial comes a day after Peter Obi and Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso visited Amaechi’s Port Harcourt residence to offer their condolences.
