The Nigerian forward sustained an injury and was replaced by Barış Alper Yılmaz after 17 minutes of play.
Istanbul Basaksehir replied after the break, with Eldor Shomurodov scoring a penalty in the 66th minute to tie the game.
Galatasaray recovered the lead five minutes later, as Lucas Torreira scored in the 71st minute following a well-worked team effort.
The hosts were pushed back again when Davinson Sánchez put the ball in his own net, restoring parity and setting for an explosive finish.
As the match heade towards a draw, Gabriel Sara produced a moment of brilliance in the 90th minute, curling a free-kick into the net to hand Galatasaray all three points.
