Nigerian street-pop singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has turned his controversial celebrity boxing rematch loss against Nollywood actor Charles Okocha into a swift diss track, days after suffering disqualification in their bout in Lagos.
The Okocha bout, codenamed “Unfinished Business,” headlined the Chaos in the Ring event at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, and was billed as a rematch of the pair’s contentious first fight, which Okocha claimed was unfairly judged in Portable’s favor.
Portable appeared to have the upper hand until the match degenerated into a wrestling-like scuffle that the referee could not break up, causing security to interfere.
In the midst of the commotion, Portable exited the ring before the bout could be properly decided on, garnering boos from fans, and was later hauled back and disqualified.
Portable’s new song criticizes the officiating and the chaotic finish, with one line mocking the referee for turning away during the scuffle, another threatening to settle scores through local wrestling if provoked again, and a third accusing Okocha of attempting to choke him, which he claims forced the fight into a street brawl.
The singer suffered his second loss in the ring, having previously fallen to Carter Efe by unanimous decision on May 1 at the same location in a DAZN-televised match.
Portable, who lost to Okocha in the first round, revealed that he was paid ₦50 million for completing one round. He claimed that the organisers had agreed to pay ₦100 million if he completed two rounds. Portable described himself as “a glorious child” whose music career remained unharmed.
