Popular Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar, has described a YouTube report claiming that she is dead as false, defamatory, and malicious.
Abubakar said she was shocked when a relative sent her a link to the YouTube report on IycomeniaTV, which falsely suggested that she had died.
She said her legal team is already taking the necessary steps to pursue the matter in court if those behind the rumour fail to remove the false report from their platform.
“I have been inundated with calls and messages from family members, relatives, and friends who were worried after seeing the fake and malicious news. For the record, I’m alive, and by the grace of God, I will live long in good health. I only wonder why someone, somewhere, would cook up such a terrible rumour about a fellow human being.
“I have instructed my team to take legal action against all platforms or individuals spreading the rumour. I’m giving them 24 hours to pull the story down or face the legal consequences,” Abubakar warned.
Abubakar also urged her fans at home and abroad to disregard the rumour, describing it as the handiwork of her detractors.
