The Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has terminated the appointment of all his political aides.

This was announced in a statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary Ebenezer Adeniyan in Akure, which said the sack was to enhance efficiency and deepen service delivery.

Adeniyan’s statement reads, “In the ongoing drive to enhance efficiency and deepen service delivery, Ondo State Governor Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has relieved all political aides of their duties with immediate effect.

“Those affected are senior special assistants and special assistants to the governor.

“The governor thanked them for their contributions to the development of the state thus far and wished them well in their future endeavors.

“Meanwhile, in a step to strengthen coordination and inject fresh capacity into the administration, about 1000 new aides, from across the 203 wards in the 18 local government areas of the state, will be appointed by the governor in due course.”

Recall that the governor appointed the fired aides on November 8, 2025.

Meanwhile, some of the governor’s appointees and political office holders have submitted resignation letters ahead of the APC primaries for the 2027 general election.

Their acts were consistent with the INEC election standards.

They include Hon. Gbenga Omole, the Special Adviser on Transport; Hon. Fadairo Oluwafemi, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Community Engagement (Central); and Dr. Olusegun Victor Ategbole, Chairman of the Ondo State Hospital Management Board (HMB).

It was gathered that they tendered their letters through the office of the Secretary to the State Government, SSG Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti.

Also, Engr. Razaq Obe, the Director General of the Performance and Project Implementation Monitoring Unit (PPIMU), has also resigned.

Also, the Secretary of Akure South Local Government, Hon. Adeola Fynch, officially resigned from her job, effective March 20, 2026.

Fynch had announced her desire to run for Akure South constituency 1 in the State House of Assembly election under the APC platform.
