President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Wale Oke, has declared that a Christian genocide is ongoing in Nigeria, urging President Bola Tinubu to collaborate with former US President Donald Trump to curb the violence and protect Christian communities.

Speaking to journalists in Ibadan on Friday, Oke said it was “undeniable” that Christians were being systematically targeted across the country, citing the killings of Deborah Samuel, the abduction of Leah Sharibu, the Chibok girls, and attacks in Benue, Taraba, Southern Kaduna, Owo, Niger, and Plateau states.

“There is Christian genocide in Nigeria. There is no other name to call it. No Christian group is attacking Muslims. The patience of the church is being stretched,” he said.

The PFN leader blamed extremist groups such as Boko Haram, ISWAP, and their splinter factions for the atrocities, clarifying that the Muslim community should not be held responsible.

Oke commended Trump for drawing global attention to the plight of Nigerian Christians but urged against any form of invasion. Instead, he appealed for cooperation between the U.S. and Nigerian governments.

“President Tinubu should seek the cooperation of President Trump instead of opposing him. Work together to root out Boko Haram and ISWAP so Nigerians can live in peace,” Oke said, stressing that the government has a constitutional duty to safeguard all citizens.

He added that while Tinubu inherited the security crisis, “decisive and apolitical action” is now required.

Meanwhile, President Tinubu is reportedly meeting with religious leaders over Trump’s renewed warning of potential US military action against terrorist networks in Nigeria.
