Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman has returned to first-team training after meeting with coach Ivan Juric on Thursday morning.
Multiple reports from Italy, notably La Gazzetta dello Sport, confirm that the Nigerian international returned to the squad on September 18, his first training session since being frozen out in August.
Lookman had been sidelined after attempting to force a summer move to Serie A rivals Inter Milan.
However, sources say he met privately with Juric before Thursday’s training and later addressed his teammates, admitting he had a “tough summer” but emphasizing his renewed focus and willingness to contribute to the club’s season.
The 26-year-old has yet to play a competitive match for La Dea this season.
According to reports, he could be included in Atalanta’s squad for their upcoming Serie A match against Torino, as the club looks to rebound from their 4-0 Champions League loss to PSG on Wednesday.
Lookman was a vital player for Atalanta last season, and his return might provide a timely boost for Juric’s team as they seek to restore form both domestically and in Europe.
