Israeli forces have launched a fresh wave of attacks on Gaza, targeting the Al Ali Hospital in northern Gaza City.

The strike forced doctors and medical staff to urgently evacuate the wounded and the sick from the facility.

This assault followed new evacuation directives issued by the military to residents of the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza and the southern city of Khan Younis.

The orders came after the IDF reportedly intercepted three rockets launched from the Gaza Strip.

Gaza’s Health Ministry confirmed the hospital bombing and reported that at least 50,912 Palestinians have been killed, while 115,981 others have sustained injuries since the beginning of the conflict.

The Government Media Office also updated the overall death toll, stating that more than 61,700 people have died, with thousands still missing beneath the rubble and presumed dead.

In Israel, at least 1,139 people were killed during the Hamas-led October 7, 2023, attack, which also saw over 200 individuals kidnapped and taken into Gaza.

In addition to military action, Israel has reportedly attacked Gaza’s water infrastructure. The ongoing blockade of repair efforts has created what has been described as “absolutely catastrophic” humanitarian conditions, resulting in a massive shortage of water for Palestinians.

According to Al Jazeera, Israeli forces have now fully encircled Rafah, Gaza’s southernmost city, effectively cutting it off from the rest of the territory. This action is said to be part of Israel’s strategy to establish a so-called “security zone.”

The number of casualties has continued to climb following the breakdown of a previous ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas. Health officials estimate that over 1,560 people have died since the resumption of hostilities.

Gaza’s Health Ministry reiterated that “at least 50,912 Palestinians are confirmed dead and 115,981 wounded in the war on Gaza.”
