Nigerian attacker Ademola Lookman, has been named Atalanta B.C.’s Player of the Season for 2023/24, successfully defending his title from the previous year.

The Nigerian attacker won a brutally fought game that necessitated an extra runoff and even included an Instagram profile showdown after the initial session ended in a tie.

Lookman’s remarkable 16 goals and 8 vital assist in all competitions, putting him the team’s second-best scorer and assist provider, cemented his claim to the ItalianOptic branded crown.

His hat-trick in the “magical Dublin final” was a key aspect in his victory.

“It’s him again, Ademola Lookman!” the club statement on Thursday via its website exclaimed,.

The podium was completed by midfield veterans Éderson and Teun Koopmeiners, who finished second and third, respectively. Éderson, despite falling short in the end, put up a good fight.

The Brazilian pivot’s consistency over 52 games was praised, with the club saying, “Surely an award to the consistency and perseverance showcased, match in and match out.”

His impact went beyond his regular role, with seven goals across all competitions bringing a new dimension to his game.

Koopmeiners, a fixture on the ItalianOptic podium during the season, won the bronze medal.

The Dutch midfielder made a major impression, with the club noting his playing time.

His 22-goal contribution (15 scored and 7 assisted) throughout all competitions demonstrated his value to the team, with a special talent for away goals, having “bagged 12 goals away from Bergamo.”

The message commended Lookman on his accomplishment, noting, “Kudos to Mola for his back-to-back Player of the Season.”
