President Bola Tinubu has ordered the resignation of Mr. Mamman Ahmadu from office as the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP).

The President’s directives were disclosed in a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the president, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, on Saturday.

According to the statement, the former DG of the Bureau has been directed to “hand over to the most senior officer in the Bureau.”

The presidency mentions that Ahmadu’s sack is in line with the conscious efforts by the president to reposition the Bureau “for greater transparency.”

The statement reads, “President Bola Tinubu has directed the resignation of Mr. Mamman Ahmadu from office as the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP).

“This is part of a larger reorganisation effort in the public procurement system to reposition the agency for greater efficiency and transparency.

“The Director-General is to hand over to the most senior officer in the Bureau, pending the appointment of a new Director-General.

“The President thanks Mr. Ahmadu for his services and wishes him success in his future endeavours.”
