Ghanaian media mogul Kwadwo Sheldon has stated that the Super Eagles of Nigeria should not be allowed to win the 2023 African Cup of Nations.

In a now viral video posted on X on Saturday, while congratulating the Super Eagles for their triumph over Angola, Sheldon noted that the whole of Ghana would be dead if Nigeria won the coveted trophy.

He noted that he’ll quit social media for the rest of the year if the Jose Peseiro side goes all the way to the final to cart home the prestigious prize.

Speaking partly in English and Pidgin, Sheldon said, “Congratulations to Nigeria. They’re through to the semi-finals of the African Cup of Nations.

“How the thing dey go, it looks like they go fit to win the trophy, and I dey come tell you people say we cannot allow Nigeria to win the African Cup of Nations.

“I cannot stress on this enough because if they win the African Cup of Nations, we’re dead! We are gone!

“Myself, I’m going to log out for like the rest of the year because of what they’re going to do to us”

Bringing the jollof rice battle between Nigeria and Ghana into the picture, the Ghanaian said, “Even jollof rice that they do not know how to cook, look at how they’re dragging it with us.

“So imagine they win; they’ll add Afrobeats, and they will add the AFCON trophy.”

He noted that the internet will not be accessible for Ghanaians should the Super Eagles end up victorious in Cote d’Ivoire.

“The internet wouldn’t be able to contain us,” he said. “So Super Eagles winning the AFCON, bro, we cannot allow it to happen.

“Please, this is important,” he added.

The video, which attracted reactions from Nigerians, had Nigerians dragging Ghanaians to the slaughter.

Reacting to the video, a netizen, identified as Fortune, said, “You can’t allow Nigeria to win? What can you do? Ghana is gone already, you donkey.”

For Olisa Obioha, he noted that Nigeria has already conquered the big names in the competition.

He said, “See, we’ve already fried Antelop with Cameroon pepper and used it to eat Ghana jollof. Wetin come remain, na to roast Guinea foul.”

“Nigeria winning the AFCON is non-negotiable. I pray we work hard and win because this ongoing AFCON is an AFCON of work, not only prayer,” Gbenga Afolanyan stated.

“Mind you, we are brothers and sisters from the same region. So rest your mind. Cruises and banter go on, but last but not least, you will be fine,” he added.

Alamugu noted that Nigeria winning the AFCON will be another testament that Nigeria has conquered African football.

He said, “He is right. It will be another proof that not only did Nigeria invent jollof rice, we also dominate African football.”

For Mark Paul, in his reaction, he said, “Oloshi of a son, you are a mumu man. Betyter, just shut down now because if we win, you are in trouble; if we do not win, you are also in trouble.”

Funtong noted that the plans of the Super Eagles are to win the trophy. He said, “Our plan is to win. Unfortunately for you and other Ghanaians, winning the AFCON is not in your place to allow or disallow.

“Una don comot. Super Eagles does not even know what you’re dragging with them because, as it stands, Nigeria is way ahead of Ghana. Know this and know peace.”

While Popoola Hassan urged Ghanaians to “change their hatred orientation towards Nigeria/Nigerians,”Mr. Z stated, “I really love the healthy competition between Nigeria and Ghana. These two countries are brothers for life; you can’t tell me otherwise.”

The Super Eagles will play the winner of the match between South Africa and Cape Verde in the semi-final.
