    Kaduna Bombings: 109 senators donate one-month salaries to victims

    The 109 senators of Nigeria’s 10th National Assembly have donated their one-month salaries totaling N109 million to the victims of a drone bomb attack in Tudun Biri, Igabi Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

    Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin announced this at the Kaduna Government House while leading a high-powered Senate delegation visiting the state.

    Senator Barau stated in a statement issued by his Special Adviser Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, that the funds will be forwarded to the state governor for distribution to the victims.

    Kaduna State governor, Uba Sani, who was a member of the 9th Senate welcomed the Senators.

    Expressing his appreciation on behalf of the state government, Governor Sani tank the Sennators for their gestures towards the victims of the bomb attacks.

    In a report by Chronicle NG, international human rights ogranisation, Amnesty International says death toll from the drone bomb attack on Tudun Biri village had risen above 120.

    Isah Sanusi, Amnesty International’s Country Director, claimed the organization’s workers were on the ground in the impacted towns and had tallied over 120 people killed in the explosion.

    He said, “I can confirm to you that the current number of casualties in the affected areas is more than 120 persons.”
    He explained that there were at least 77 bodies buried in each of the mass graves, insisting that the casualty figure was higher than what NEMA stated.
