    Egbetokun tasks senior officers with human-focused policing

    Olukayode Egbetokun, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), has ordered the redeployment of newly promoted deputy and acting inspector general of police across all commands and formations and tasked them with professionalism and human-focused policing nationwide.

    Chronicle NG reports that ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Force PRO, said this on Tuesday in a statement.

    The Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, following the promotion of deserving officers to the rank of Deputy Inspectors-General of Police by the Police Service Commission, has ordered the posting and redeployment of seven (7) DIGs to various departments.

    DIG Bala Ciroma has been redeployed to head the Department of Finance and Administration. Frank Emeka Mba to the Department of Training and Development, and DIG Habu A. Sani to head the Force Intelligence Bureau. Others are DIG. Usman D. Nagogo to the Department of Logistics and Supply, DIG Daniel Sokari-Pedro to the Department of Information and Communication Technology, DIG Ibrahim Sani Ka’oje, to the Department of Research and Planning; and DIG Ede Ayuba Ekpeji, to head the Department of Operations.

    Similarly, the IGP. Egbetokun has approved the posting of the following Assistant Inspectors-General of Police to the following commands and formations, as indicated by their names: AIG Oladimeji Yomi Olanrewaju has been posted as the Force Secretary; AIG Yekini Adio Ayoku has been posted to head the Police Mobile Force; AIG Idris Dabban Dauda has been posted to Zone 16 Yenagoa; AIG Oyediran Adesoye Oyeyemi has been posted to head the Police Cooperative; and AIG Benjamin Okolo Nebeolisa has been posted to the AIG Department of ICT.

    • Egbetokun deploys Mba, other promoted DIGs, AIGs

    Furthermore, the IGP charges the newly posted and redeployed senior officers to entrench professionalism in their respective departments, commands, and formations while prioritizing human security and people-centric policing services.
