    Brigadier General donates 100 walkie-talkies to CJTF in Zamfara

    Brigadier General Sani Ahmed donates 100 sets of BAOFENG communication radios (Walkie-Talkies) to the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) in Zamfara State.

    Brigadier General Sani Ahmed has donated 100 sets of BAOFENG communication radios (Walkie-Talkies) to the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) in Zamfara State.

    This was disclosed in a statement signed by Captain Yahaya Ibrahim Arama, Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations.

    According to the statement, the donation 0f the BAOFENG communication radios (Walkie-Talkies) “is part of his corporate social responsibilities to the host communities and to enhance the operational capacity of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) in the state.”

    The statement added that the donation of walkie-talkies will go a long way towards aiding the CJTF in carrying out their responsibilities in securing lives and property in their respective communities effectively.

    The general, who commended the Civilian Joint Task Force for their efforts in maintaining peace in the state, urged them to put the walkie-talkies to good use.

    The statement reads, “In an effort to enhance the cordial civil-military cooperation and strengthen security in Zamfara State, the Commander, 1 Brigade Nigerian Army, Gusau, Brigadier General Sani Ahmed, donated 100 sets of BAOFENG communication radios (Walkie-Talkies) to members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) in a brief ceremony at Headquarters, 1 Brigade Gusau, Zamfara State.

    “In his remarks, the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Sani Ahmed, said the donation of the Baofeng Radios is part of his corporate social responsibilities to the host communities and to enhance the operational capacity of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) in the state. He added that this will aid the CJTF in carrying out their responsibilities in securing lives and property in their respective communities effectively.

    “Brigadier General Ahmed commended the efforts of the CJTF in the roles they have been playing in protecting their community and urged them to make maximum good use of the communication gadgets to enhance their operational capacity and to ensure adequate protection of lives and property within their various communities in the state.

    “The Commander further reiterated respect for human rights and urged the CJTF not to indulge in extrajudicial killing while carrying out their responsibilities. He also charged the CJTF with ensuring adequate information sharing among the Vigilantes and improving their level of alertness in their communities. The Chairman of the Civilian Joint Task Force, Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed, thanked the Commander of the 1 Brigade for his noble gestures and for recognising the efforts of the CJTF.

    “Saying they earlier received motorcycles from the commander to support their operations, he therefore assured the commander that the Baofeng Communication Radios will greatly enhance their operational activities in the state and further assured that they will operate according to the laid-down rules and regulations and with respect for human rights.”
