A Nigerian Yoruba girl has lamented bitterly after being dumped by her Igbo lover for being from the Yoruba ethnic group.
In a now-viral video, the jilted lover condemned the alarming ethnic cold war between the Igbos and her ethnic group.
She mentioned that after deciding to give love another try following her breakup with her ex-lover two years ago, it “hurt” to be jilted because of one’s ethnic background.
“My relationship just ended because I am Yoruba, and it is crazy,” she said.
Describing her former lover as “a sweet Igbo guy,” she mentioned that the crash of the relationship hurts because he matches the qualities she wants in a man.
She lamented that he called the relationship off because his family warned him to stay clear of girls from the southwest.
“He said his parents said he could not have anything to do with a Yoruba girl,” she lamented.
She mentioned that it has “been very hard” to get over the heartbreak, and it is also affecting her business.
