West Ham rallied from behind to defeat Premier League relegation rivals Burnley in a game preceded by a massive protest from Hammers supporters.

Before the game at London Stadium, 10,000 home supporters marched through Stratford carrying a corpse and hearse, denouncing the club’s management.

Their rage would have escalated when Burnley striker Zian Flemming headed in from Lesley Ugochukwu’s cross. A video assistant referee (VAR) checked for a possible offside against Flemming earlier in the move, but the goal remained.

West Ham equalized when Callum Wilson nodded in from close range after Crysencio Summerville’s shot was diverted into his path late in the first half.

They didn’t start threatening until approximately 30 minutes into the second half.

Tomas Soucek was involved in their next two goals, with Martin Dubravka to blame for both.

Soucek bundled in from close range after Dubravka deflected Lucas Paqueta’s pass into his path.

Then the keeper parried Soucek’s long-range effort, and Kyle Walker-Peters scored from close range.

Burnley earned a consolation right at the finish when Josh Cullen scored from an error by Alphonse Areola.

West Ham remain 18th in the Premier League, trailing just Burnley on goal difference.
