Fabrizio Romano has stated that Super Eagles forward Victor Boniface is the most sought-after striker among clubs in the Top 5 leagues in Europe.

Boniface joined Bayer Leverkusen for €20 million from Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in the previous transfer window and has since developed into one of Europe’s most feared strikers.

His seven goals and five assists in 11 Bundesliga games earned him the league’s Player of the Month and Rookie of the Month accolades in August, September, and October, as well as nominations for best player of the month in September.

According to statistics provided in the middle of September, the Nigerian also has the most shots in the Bundesliga this season.

Die Werkself’s great start to the 2023–24 season has been aided by the 22-year-old striker, who is presently top of the Bundesliga standings after 11 match days.

Boniface was the fourth player in Europe’s Top 5 leagues with the most goal contributions prior to the international break, trailing only Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane, Manchester City‘s Erling Haaland, and VfB Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy, who are first, second, and third, respectively.

His impressive goal contribution statistics are only surpassed by Kane’s 28 goal contributions (21 goals and seven assists), Haaland’s 21 (17 goals and four assists), and Guirassy’s 18 goal contributions (16 goals and two assists).

With seven goals in 11 games this season, the Akure-born striker is the Bundesliga’s sixth-highest scorer for the 2023–24 season, trailing Kane (17), VfB Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy (15), RB Leipzig’s Los Openda (9), and VfL Wolfsburg’s Jonas Wind and Leroy Sane, both on eight.

It is not surprising, then, that Boniface is the most sought-after striker in Europe, according to Romano.

“Top clubs from different countries are keeping a close eye on Victor Boniface, who is doing fantastic at Leverkusen,” the transfer expert wrote.

“He won the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month award three times in a row. Top impact.”

Newcastle, Real Madrid, and Liverpool are among the clubs said to be interested in the teenager.
