The United States Department of State is preparing to issue a limited-edition passport featuring President Donald Trump, according to reports from Fox News.
The redesigned document is said to be part of the country’s 250th independence anniversary celebrations, branded “America250”.
Mock-ups shared on the White House’s official X account reportedly show Trump’s portrait on the inside cover, alongside excerpts from the Declaration of Independence, the US flag, and his signature in gold.
Other pages are expected to include historical artwork depicting the signing of the Declaration of Independence, as well as enhanced design features reflecting the anniversary theme.
According to State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott, the commemorative passport will retain all standard security features while introducing customised artwork and upgraded visual elements.
Design changes also include a revised cover layout, with “United States of America” enlarged above the national crest. The back cover is expected to display the American flag with the number “250” placed between 13 stars inspired by the 1777 flag design.
Officials say the passport will be available to US citizens applying during the rollout period, though issuance may be limited and handled through the Washington Passport Agency.
The launch is expected in summer 2026, aligning with nationwide Independence Day anniversary events.
As part of the wider celebrations, the US government is planning large-scale events, including a fireworks display at Mount Rushmore, a Grand Prix-style race at the National Mall in August, and a UFC event at the White House South Lawn in June.
While commemorative items such as coins and park passes are common in the United States, passports are typically standardised identification documents valid for around 10 years and recognised internationally.
The report also notes previous branding efforts involving Trump’s name on major US institutions, including the Kennedy Centre and the US Institute of Peace.
