The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has missed an invitation from the Code of Conduct Bureau about an ongoing inquiry into alleged violations of the Code of Conduct for Public Officers.

Our correspondent, who was at the CCB headquarters, Federal Secretariat, Abuja, on Tuesday, said that the minister, who was supposed to meet with interrogators at 11 a.m., did not arrive between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

In a telephone interview on Tuesday, CCB spokesperson Veronica Kato confirmed the development, saying the Tunji-Ojo’s interrogation would be rescheduled for a later date following his memo to the agency claiming a national assignment.

“Yes, the minister’s interrogation has been rescheduled. He wrote, asking that it be rescheduled because he has a national assignment, so it has been rescheduled for a later date,” Kato said.

When asked about the next scheduled date, she said that there was no exact date yet.

“We don’t have a precise date now, but it has been rescheduled to another day,” she said.

The CCB invited the minister to discuss his company’s involvement in a contract worth ₦438 million with the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.
