England manager Thomas Tuchel has selected a 27-player squad for the first four fixtures of the 2026-27 UEFA Nations League, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Cole Palmer among those making their return to the Three Lions squad.
Tuchel made changes in eight places to his England World Cup squad.
The squad was announced on Friday, September 18, before an extended international window that runs from September 21 to October 6.
Alexander-Arnold, now at Real Madrid, comes back alongside his club colleague Jude Bellingham, and Chelsea forward Palmer is included as well after being left out of the 2026 World Cup squad.
A number of players have also come back following the beginning of the new club season, among them Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Lewis Hall, Rio Ngumoha, Jarrad Branthwaite, Myles Lewis-Skelly, and Alex Scott.
England will open their Nations League campaign against newly crowned world champions Spain at Wembley on Saturday, September 26.
The Group A3 encounter is set to kick off at 7.45pm BST, with the fixture taking place at Wembley Stadium.
Tuchel’s team will then head to Prague to take on Czechia at the Fortuna Arena on Tuesday, September 29, with kick-off set for 7.45pm BST.
The Three Lions will stay on the road for their third match of the window, facing Croatia in Rijeka on Saturday, October 3.
The game at the Stadium HNK Rijeka will begin at 5pm BST and will be staged behind closed doors as a result of a UEFA sanction.
England will wrap up the four-match window by welcoming Czechia to Wembley on Tuesday, October 6, with the match set for 7.45pm BST. ↻
The squad will gather at St. George’s Park early next week to start preparing for the four fixtures.
