Donald Trump won the North Dakota Republican presidential caucuses on Monday, according to Edison Research, ahead of a series of elections known as Super Tuesday, in which he is expected to cement his hold on the party’s presidential candidature.
In North Dakota, former President Trump defeated Nikki Haley, his final remaining Republican presidential candidate.
Trump is poised to dominate Tuesday’s elections when 15 states and one US territory vote on the biggest day of the primary season.
Former UN ambassador Haley won her first nominating fight, the Washington DC primary, on Sunday.
However, she faces no obvious road to the nomination in a primary season in which Trump has won the first eight contests and is likely to take almost all remaining elections on Super Tuesday.
Trump is preparing for a rematch with Democratic US President Joe Biden in the November general election.
