Former President Donald Trump has joined TikTok and gained great popularity within hours after his debut.
His debut video, recorded from the Ultimate Fighting Championship 302 in New Jersey, has over 32 million views and 1.8 million followers as of Sunday evening.
The video, shared on his verified account, #realDonaldTrump, shows the former US president waving to admirers during the event.
UFC President Dana White announced his entrance on the platform, to which the former president replied, “It’s my honour.”
Within four hours, the video had over 2.7 million views and 500,000 likes.
His decision to join TikTok comes after the stock price of Trump Media & Technology Group Corp. (TMTG), which owns Truth Social, fell following his felony conviction.
Notably, the former US president previously attempted to ban TikTok in the United States during his presidency.
