Six kidnapped victims have been rescued by Nigerian Army troops from the One Mechanised Division during a clearance operation in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Musa Yahaya, the Acting Public Relations Officer of One Mechanised Division, troops mobilised and embarked on a search and rescue operation after receiving credible intelligence about the kidnapping of six people in the Hayin Tsando general area of Maraban Jos in the local government area.

He claimed that when the troops made contact with the robbers, they immediately engaged them in a gun battle in which the troops freed the kidnapped victims.

The troops also neutralised one of the robbers and retrieved two AK-47 weapons, while several other criminals escaped with bullet wounds, according to the spokesman.

Meanwhile, Major General Valentine Okoro, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of One Mechanised Division, has praised the troops for their efforts.

The GOC further charged them with continuing the vigorous operation until all criminal elements in the division’s area of responsibility were eradicated.

He also urged all paramedics to be on the watch for those with gunshot wounds and to report them to the Nigerian Army or other sister security authorities as soon as possible.During a clearance operation in Kaduna State’s Igabi Local Government Area, troops from the Nigerian Army‘s One Mechanised Division recovered six kidnapped victims.
